Grace Union Church had a busy and blessed year of worship, ministries and important events in 2025. Here are a dozen to celebrate:
- Two baptisms and two confirmations of our young people, which involved preparation for those important life events.
- Inspiring, weekly worship services, including church anniversary and special holiday services, plus occasional attendance by guests and former members.
- Weekly operation of Grace Union’s Food Pantry, which provided 38 tons of nutritious food this year to 9,670 adults and 6,212 children (total: 15,882 individuals) and 4,427 families. We also provided clothing, diapers and 100 Thanksgiving feast baskets, thanks in part to support from members and friends of Grace Union and Winslow churches.
- An eventful year for Grace Union’s Youth Group, including monthly meetings, fundraising events and attendance at the Greater New Jersey (GNJ) Conference’s IGNITE youth conference in Wildwood, NJ.
- Other successful fundraising efforts to support ministries and generate fellowship, including quarterly hoagie sales
- Our annual Memorial Day weekend barbecue cookout for members and friends.
- Pastoral, getting-to-know-you interviews with a dozen members.
- Production of new promotional brochures and purchase of new welcoming materials to share with visitors.
- Dave and Wendy Dorfman being honored with the GNJ Conference’s 2025 Laity Evangelism (Denman) Award, recently presented to them by our District Superintendent the Rev. Derrick Doerty.
- Well-attended, regular meetings of our Church Council and Staff/Pastor-Parish Relations Committee to manage the administrative and personnel affairs of our two churches, including some significant property and equipment repairs and upgrades, led by our excellent trustees.
- Our painstaking preparation and timely submission of many annual, district and charge conference forms and reports.
- Successful and harmonious sharing of our church facilities with New Generation Christian Church—a congregation of Haitian area residents—for its weekly worship services, choir rehearsals and Sunday school classes, plus revivals and monthly Saturday fasting services.
No doubt there were many more accomplishments last year that demonstrate our vision and vitality for ministry and our commitment to being effective leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ who seek to grow in faith and help transform lives.
